Cancun has many shopping centers, malls, market places and stores. Because of the rich cultural diversity you can find all kinds of unique stuffs. You will find high-quality woodcrafts, jewelry, Mexican handcrafts, pottery, typical clothing and all you can imagine. Here is a list of the places that we recommend for shopping.
 
Shopping Malls
Kukulkan Plaza
60,000 square meter shopping center that has more than 250 shops and boutiques in a close and safe environment, 6 specialty restaurants, bars, cafes, 2 theaters and bowling, as well as a Food Court offering 9 different options.

Plaza La Isla
The glittering, ultratrendy (and ultraexpensive) La Isla Shopping Village is on the Nichupte Lagoon under a giant canopy. A series of canals and small bridges are designed to give the place a Venetian look. In addition to a wide range of shops, the mall has a marina, an aquarium, a disco, restaurants, and movie theaters.

Plaza Flamingos
Flamingo Plaza is a small, high-tech plaza beautifully decorated with marble. It has designer, duty-free, and sportswear shops, an exchange booth, and two boutiques selling Guatemalan imports.

Plaza Caracol
The largest and most contemporary of the malls, Plaza Caracol is north of the Convention Center. It houses about 200 shops and boutiques, including two pharmacies, art galleries, a currency exchange, and folk-art and jewelry shops, as well as cafes and restaurants. Boutiques include Benetton, Bally, Gucci, and Ralph Lauren, with prices lower than their U.S. counterparts.

Plaza Las Americas (Downtown)
Plaza las Americas is a shopping center in downtown Cancun. Its 50-plus stores, three restaurants, eight movie theaters, video arcade, fast-food outlets, and three large department stores will make you think you're back home
 
Plaza Forum By the Sea
Forum-by-the-Sea is a sparkling entertainment/shopping plaza in the Zone. This three-level plaza offers Cancun's biggest selection of cinemas, brand-name stores, and restaurants in a circus-like atmosphere.

Plaza La Fiesta

Buy mayan arts, clothing, liquors, jewelry, leather, sunglasses, drugstore, apparel, collectibles, and everything else on Plaza La Fiesta Online, cancun's online marketplace. almost anything on Plaza la Fiesta.

Plaza Bonita Cancun (Downtown) Located on Av. Xel-ha, Behind the Post Office, next to Mercado 28.  Quaint shops located next to Mercado 28.

 
Handcrafts
Market Ki-Huic (Downtown)
The place to deal with the local vendors all kind of handcrafts, Mexican blankets, sombreros, silver items. Located in downtown this place is crowded by tourists all the time.
 
Coral Negro
Coral Negro, next to the Convention Center, is the only open-air market in the Hotel Zone, with about 50 stalls selling craft items. It's open seven days a week until late evening.
 
Market 28
A good spot to check out souvenirs is Mercado Veintiocho (Market 28). Just off Avenida Yaxchilan and Sunyaxchen, this popular market is filled with shops selling many of the same souvenir items found in the Hotel Zone, but at half the price.
 
Super Markets
All these super markets are located in downtown. If you wish to buy at very reasonable prices groceries, bakery, casual clothing, shoes, beach towels, sun blockers, souvenirs or just to watch around, the Cancun's super stores are the right place. All of them open at 7:00 AM and close at midnight although the Walmart and Mega Comercial Mexicana are open 24 hours a day.

Comercial Mexicana (2 stores: Mega Comercial Kabah & Tulum Avenue)
San Francisco de Asis (5 stores: Lopez Portillo AVe, Ruta 4, Market 28, Crucero and Hotel Zone in front of the Intercontinental Hotel)
